Imagine a world where each generation is happier and better off than the last.
In 2013, Mike Durham founded Peachjar with the goal to create an easy way for schools to send information home to parents that wasn’t a paper-based flyer system. After all, we know how it goes—pages of colored paper with information stuffed into the backpack of students and lost to the “did this actually get home” abyss. When information does make it home it’s also often lost or forgotten, leaving out potential opportunities for fun, learning, and resources for families.
Our mission is to help children thrive beyond the classroom. For more than a decade, parents and guardians have utilized Peachjar to find programs for their children—from school events, clubs, and health information to sports, camps, and community events—to enrich the time spent out of the classroom and help develop the social, emotional, and technical skills to make their futures brighter.
The Peachjar Experience
The next step on our journey to helping children thrive is the release of the Peachjar experience—designed to help parents and guardians easily find the resources and opportunities applicable to their children and family—leading to a more effective and personalized experience, around child enrichment, than anywhere else.
Our school district and program provider partners will have the same platform experience with easy to use functionality and metrics reporting. School districts will still have the ability to approve or deny information from program providers depending on their district’s unique approval guidelines.
Parents and guardians can access the experience via Peachjar emails sent on behalf of their school districts.
Here's a look at some of our favorite updates:
- Streamlined navigation: Users can easily search and browse to discover flyers tailored to their interests. Users can also switch between the "School" and "Community" sections, which makes it easier to find on-campus and off-campus flyers.
- Explore multiple flyerboards: Users can browse flyerboards by categories in addition to flyerboards for new information and free events in the community.
- Save flyers: Users can save flyers for later review.
- Enhanced flyer details: Users can also see more information about flyers such as intended grade or age, posted date, and category. Users are able to share flyers on Pinterest or other social media, print, or download flyers.
- Custom community: Users can adjust their community area, enabling them to explore more opportunities tailored to their child's grade or age beyond their child's school.
- Multi-language option: Users can switch the interface to their preferred language.
Along the way, we’ve worked with several districts to beta test this experience within their communities. A special thank you is owed to these districts for participating in these testing groups!
The entire team here at Peachjar is passionate about making the future better for today’s children and is united in the mission of seeing children thrive beyond the classroom. We couldn’t do it without the amazing school and community partnerships we’ve established along the way, reaching over 12 million parents and guardians across the country, and we’re excited to continue this journey with the addition of the Peachjar experience.
Imagine a world where each generation is happier and better off than the last. Now, let’s make that a reality together.
