April brings showers, flowers, and the promise of warm weather. With spring upon us, families are out and about, looking for activities for now and over the summer. This is a good time to start preparing for the end of the school year and summer activities.
This month brings us Autism Awareness Month so prepare to celebrate this in your community! If there are walks, runs, or other activities, it is great to share them on your social media channels ahead, during, and after the event. If you’re able, host or co-host an informational session about autism for families, giving them a chance to ask questions and meet other families.
Also celebrated this month is National Library Week, 2023's theme is "There's More to the Story." Use this time to showcase your school library team as well as your community libraries. With the summer break approaching, encourage families to share their summer reading goals and encourage them to join or form book clubs. This also allows for connection over the summer break.
Springtime brings new opportunities—for learning and connecting! We’ve compiled a list of ideas for ways to engage in April. Use these starting points to connect with your district families, strengthen your connection with your community.
We've created some engagement templates to get you started!
