Canva Crash Course for Educators and Organizations

If you haven’t already seen it, we recently uploaded our own quick Canva crash course to our YouTube channel. In the video, Matthew Jennings is joined by Rob Meszaros from Kern County Superintendent of Schools Office of Education to dive into Canva and everything it can do for your school district or organization as a design tool! A few quick things to mention about Canva:

User-friendly Interface

Canva has a user-friendly interface. You can be someone with no prior design experience and you will still be able to quickly navigate through the platform. They make it easy to find the right templates for the right size documents you need. The easy editing tools and drag and drop functionality makes Canva a simple straightforward tool to use.

So Many Templates!

Canva has templates for so many different types of documents or digital media you need to create. Anything you need to make, you can probably make on Canva, making it possible to almost never have to build anything from scratch. These templates are great starting points for any project or design and are a great way to draw inspiration.

Customization Options

Canva’s customization options are extensive and are simple and easy to use. Tools like the background remover, magic eraser, and magic edit gives you great image editing ability. Their fx edits and general editing tools provide overall great ease of use as well. 

High Quality Stock Photos

Canva also gives you access to millions of high quality stock photos, illustrations, icons, and even audio tracks to use in any of your designs. You don’t have to go searching for images on Google or anywhere else. It is all right there for you.

Easy Brand Consistency

With Canva you can also maintain brand consistency as you have the capability to create brand kits that store your brand’s colors, fonts, and logos for quick access.

Collaboration

You can collaborate on designs together with your teammates. Canva allows designs to be shared, edited, and commented on to create a great tool for team project editing.

Constant Improvements

Canva is constantly being improved upon by their team with new features coming out all of the time.

It's free. Anyone with an account can use it. There is a premium paid version where you have access to all of Canva’s features but the free version is great for most needs!
