Swim4Life Helps Children Unleash The Power Of Swimming

Swim4Life Colorado is on a mission to empower children with life-saving swimming skills. Their Learn to Swim program goes beyond traditional swimming lessons, focusing on basic self-rescue skills and building confidence in moving water. They offer state-of-the-art facilities that replicate realistic situations, allowing children to apply their swim skills in open water. With 3/4ths of drownings occurring in open water settings for children over the age of 5, their program addresses a critical need.

"We are the only program in the country doing what we do," said Swim4Life Founder Courtney Kline. “Children are normally taught to swim in a controlled setting so subconsciously they think water always acts that way. This inhibits application when they really need to apply those skills in an open water situation.” Swim4Life Colorado equips children with the skills needed to navigate open water confidently while also providing valuable skills that will help protect them throughout their entire lives.

“We have witnessed children applying our skills to handle unexpected waves or situations where parents were momentarily distracted,” said Kline. “We take pride in the infant who used sign language to make eye contact with their parents before getting in the water, even when prompted by an adult in the pool. Then there's our student Denver, who was once afraid to leave the wall at age 8 but bravely conquered White Water Rafting during one of our open water outings.”
